Does anyone know anyone who lives on the Sunshine Coast near Roberts Creek or Davis Bay or know of any webcams of those locations? I'd be interested to see what the conditions will be like between 5 and 8PM Friday evening. 2.5 times the fetch of Point Roberts = ?

I'm sidelined for a while so have fun out there tomorrow.

I think the Sunshine coast is a bit off shore on typical SE, you really want to be on the Island side for SE's. Columbia Beach or Comox Spit.

Don't listen to this guy, Darryl, the SC has the goods on a big SE especially when the wind and tide magically match up :D . Sweet DTL action at Davis Bay at the Chapman creek river mouth, when the SE swell wraps around and cleans up providing two, sometimes three hits.

Stay up by the point and sneak in for some wave rides and wave smacks but try not to go too far downwind as the land curves away towards Sechelt there, making for either a long swim back, or an epic downwinder to the Wakefield.

Another great spot is right by the Trail Islands just off West Sechelt, right where the Wakefield Pub used to be, wind gets an extra boost as it pushes between the Islands and the land, unfortunately no more pub onsite for Apres!

Sechelt inlet gets a little thermal push in the summertime, esp up by the Provincial Park in Porpoise Bay.

My in-laws live over there so have had some magical sessions but not too many as of late unfortunately. Phillippe from Airtime has a place in Roberts Creek and can provide some great intel on that spot, though I think you are SOL on the webcam front. It can be pretty gnar with rocks/barnacles for kites when the tide is up but no worries with the windsurf gear!

Thanks Chuck
I thought I had seen some pics of Davis Bay looking really good in the past and tomorrow may be that day. I can't make it out (here or there) but was wondering how it would look with 40 knots of wind blowing all the way up the Strait from Whidbey and wrapping into Davis Bay.....?

I don't know why windguru thinks I would be interested in a gay cruise.
