Looks like a nice setup at JWSP from 5pm until dark. Have fun out there today. I'm going to try Stump Lake this afternoon with my 8 year old :D

last time I checked forecast for that region showed nuking by 6pm, 30-35knots. I hope wind comes early by 5pm so you are not left with 7-9pm, but the drive back is not bad after.

If there is any decent surf take some pictures.

I want to try Whidbey's for surfing at least once this coming winter if possible, may need to time it correctly, locals there are not friendly, they'll drop on you for no reason from what I read and videos.

Alton, maybe it's time to place some adds in this site (small, right side, instead of featured picture perhaps), and make some money on the side ... and once a year invite buddies for a pre-Christmas dinner/birthday/new kite you wanted.

Looks like the wind finally arrived at Whidbey, hope those who went down waited it out and scored a session.

BWD, G-Spot, and Windguru are saying WNW wind tomorrow morning. Planning to hit the water at Garry Point Park at 6:00 am for a quick session before a 9:00 AM meeting at the airport. I will post an OSR when I arrive. Will check the forecast first thing when I get up before heading out the door though.

We had a great day. Locust was going off this morning, so we made this the first stop. Fully lit on 9M. Long walk out to the water! Holy smokes! Water was very warm. Could've gone in board shorts.
Trip to Whidbey was a first for Bill and I. We were hoping to score a double session down there. Big kite afternoon, small kite evening. We waited and waited, finally our Guinea pig showed up. Scott from Bellingham went out with 10m and surfboard. He came in to tell us he was fully powered. We were twin tipping, so pumped up 12M. It was the right choice. Fully lit on 12M. Wind tapered off towards the end of the session. Came in, packed up then the wind picked up. Could've gone out with smaller kite at this point, but decided to call it a day.

Launch was a bit sketchy for kites - the grassy area was turbulent.
Once in the water, the side shore current made it difficult to get going.

Coming back to the beach was quite challenging with the lighter wind. Once you entered the side current, the kite was difficult to steer, and throw in some 4-5 foot shore pound it was not a fun place to be.

Best part of the day was just being out in the waves! Before the wind arrived, the ground swell was somewhere in the 3 to 4 foot max range. Once the wind kicked up the waves almost doubled in size. I couldn't believe the size of the roque rollers coming through!

Way to go Lucas! The Whidbey waves can be amazing especially inbound. Trade off is low tide has less side shore current but disorganized waves. High tide has crazy side shore current but better waves.
