The fort casey inn was a different experience, old officer's housing from WW1/WW2 era. There was a good Thai place in Coupeville when we were there ~3 years ago.

Read through C36's Sailing Site Info for Whidbey Island as there is a lot of good info there but not sure about camping if all the parks are full. It's below the Satellite and Webcams section

Sailing Site Info
Squamish Spit, Squamish Nexen, Boundary Bay, White Rock East Beach, Acadia, Point Roberts Gulf Road, Locust Beach, Whidbey Island, PSKite Beaches

Anyone have any advice where to camp in our truck & camper, near Long Beach?. My daughter just got some time off work next Wed thru Friday but we don't have reservations at Green Point, and of course it is fully booked. We just need a nice place to park and hopefully pitch a tent, preferably with toilet or outhouse.
Thanks

Last minute reservations will likely be hard to come by. You can try Ukee Campground (larger number of small sites with a refund policy) and Long Beach Gold CourseéCampground (they only answer the phone around dinner time so it is hard to reach them to make a reservation). Surf Junction (looks nice and others speak well of it) and Lost Shoe (never stayed there) are worth a try too, but less likely IMHO.

Thanks for your suggestions Dave. With the good weather I think it's risky. May just spend a couple nights in the vicinity of Jordan River instead. The Provinvial campgrounds there show much better midweek availability. Explore Botany Beach etc. Might get a lucky session at Gordon's too (never tried it).
