Weather Talk For BC no matter what you ride

White Rock today

Windsurfing shop talk

Classic White Rock day. 5.2 110l was a little much at times but mostly dialled in. Nicely spaced knee to waist high ramps great for jumping on port tack (I think it was port, Dave? )
Highlight was Dave's back loop attempt, dude you were so close to making that one! :D
The wind was really light up by the pier though so you had to stay between the launch and river.

Went to PR. 16-22 knots. Not much waves to talk about. No border waits.
12m kite + surfboard was fun, liked the lawn and pebbles, the heated washroom, VIP parking...
Why nobody chose Point Roberts today? For the SW?

Gabe, I didn't go to Point Roberts cause the sensor was looking better for White Rock and G-Spot was showing more wind for WR as well. I also checked the WR webcam and the waves were looking good. Another thing is the tide set up at Point Roberts wasn't looking great. I noticed that things work better there around low tide and if the tide is moving opposite to the wind. I found when the tide is high the swell is disorganized.

Thanks for the pics Dave. Wish I'd had the GoPro on today to catch that back loop.

M: Your right, wind/wave angle favoured jumps to port (especially when sailing out from the mouth of the river). :D Pinching a mini aerial off the lip on starboard was also possible, if you watched for a 'horse head' to present itself. 8-)
