Both EC Howe Sound and EC Lillooet forecast look really good for Squamish tomorrow.

To my eye both Squamish and locust have "potential" decent wind today. Pluses and minuses for each. Will check later morning and likely choose one or the other for early afternoon.

Local reports from Whistler = clear blue skies. Driving up to the sacred river in the next 20mins.

So how was it? Curious to see what it was like, was it as west as the graph showed? Did that mess things up?

At noon I arrived in Squamish, saw the wind was westerly so I detoured to Nexen. The graph looked gusty so Francis, Peter (morrison), Don and I waited for steadier wind (WSW 25-30) then hit the water at 1pm. Francis and I chose 7m+surfboard while most others 9m. With full depower 7m was the perfect choice for 3 hours TOW before I was wiped out. Took me 20 minutes to beat out pass the pier but then darted up the the Spit to say hello to AJ and Jack. Windsurfers at the Spit included AJ, Mike, Adrien and C36. Returned to Nexen at the corner of the terminal where waves were best. Motivated by some awesome kiters on surfboards smacking some waves frontside - even got a few myself. Windsurfers at Nexen include Ross, Tom and Lubo. Great way to open the Squamish season with WSW 30 and Mags 99!
