that was funny, all set up (7m/130l) ready to plane, got off planing right away from beach for about 3 minutes ... and that was it ! wind never got past 12 knots after that, not even gusts.
So instead of swearing I went for some easy sailing for about an hour (that's why I like the floaty 130l), amazing sunset shining on mountains with clouds moving, people stopped to take photos when de-rigging.
Next time at Iona (when tide is over 12ft) and over 13knots we'll go in the water, I can plane with almost nothing, and all you need is your 16m kite. I was ready to rig today because I knew the wind was enough for my gear; it was just the shallowness, once my roberts gains speed and the fin hits sand I get sent flying, literally.
it's getting cold on NW winds, time to get my 6/5mm for a summer feeling.
See you next time.
