In the old days there were kites designed to flag on to a single rear line.

Still alive...
Nw picking up today, will get to 0.6m.
High tide, 2pm on ;good for Iona beach, will get 15 knots + with nice rolling waves... Wishful thinking.

Otherwise Columbia beach on Saturday, if you need another 45 sessions in the next 10 days to beat Alton.

Alton,
Yesterday the surfing at PR so close the beach put in "Alton terms"... : " it was a threesome between head high surf, my board and myself with an early exit to avoid future headaches". Sleeping with your wetsuit should get you in the 200's. Kudos,it must be a Vancouver all time record.

No wind or precipitation in the new year. Time to pack away my surfboard and snowboard and start skiing.

Hey Michael,

You need to find a little used zodiac with a small portable outboard :D Just something you could get out to the wind line and then anchor and rig off the back in Howe Sound. It would roll up and fit perfectly in your van.

15 years ago I had a Zodiac Cadet Fastroller 340 with the inflatable keel and a 25hp Merc 2-Stroke short shaft. No problems ripping over to Echo Island on Harrison Lake from Bear Creek in 3-4' swell..........with wetsuits on just in case.

Plenty stable for two guys and gear to rig on as well. It had an insane max weight rating and it didn't matter if it took some water over the bow. It rode very smooth and dry actually with the steep deadrise on the inflatable keel entry.

With 300' of 1/2" anchor rope and a 35 pound anchor you'd be set for Porteau Cove and a buddy. Worth mentioning with EOD setting in. Hope that El Niño pattern isn't taking hold after the stellar Fall snow and wind wise :(

Cheers,

Chris

I was given this shirt over the holidays. Still a bit disoriented over the kiteboard part ;) . Does suit now with the lack of wind.
