Ok, so it is Friday the 13th...

Started overpowered on 4.5 so switched to 3.7 after a bit. On 3.7 could go but wind did not seem as strong. Ended up downwind after a few runs. Re-rigged 4.5 but never went back out as watched wind fad away. Should have brought windfoil but brought 74L instead.

Doggin’ it. Arrived at Acadia to find Mike rigging down to 3.7 but I didn’t think it was that strong, so I rigged 4.0/85 litres. Wrong call.
Tide was coming in fast so I quickly launched before the logs started rolling. Found some really big waves (not smooth swell) but not much wind :(. Got in a few reaches heading downwind; quickly arriving at Dog Beach. I couldn’t help but think of Michael’s last Acadia report and hope that he wasn’t just pulling into the parking lot!
Walked back along the road to Acadia and rigged the 5.0 but never took it out. Missed that short window while I was doing the walk of shame.
I suppose it wasn’t so bad for Friday the 13th: no broken gear, didn’t hit anything, stayed warm, got a few reaches, and didn’t have to swim in. Gotta have a positive attitude in this sport!

I pumped up my 7m at Spanish Bank ... but remained a spectator at the beach.

Oh well, at least I dried out my 7m kite from yesterday's wet session

Looks like winging was the win today! The lone winger out at Acadia was having no trouble getting upwind and then scoring 12+ second flagged rides.

I hope he managed to get his gear back to shore without any damage though, some nasty loggy shore break to contend with:

Sorta-kinda-almost. Waited for the shift west and then after chatting with Tsawwassen about actuals decided to head to White Rock East Beach as the north half of the Georgia Straight looked a little hallow and the Juan de Fuca Straight was on fire! Arrived to solid wind but it was trend down and rotating north quickly. Got a couple of fits-and-starts rides and one jump and then it was over. Rigged bigger, but the wind diminished faster. Hmmmmmmm. On the plus side it was warmer than yesterday (no gloves) and the sun was out. Milked the light stuff and pushed around in the wind swell and pretended I was at Long Beach.
