Doggin’ it. Arrived at Acadia to find Mike rigging down to 3.7 but I didn’t think it was that strong, so I rigged 4.0/85 litres. Wrong call.
Tide was coming in fast so I quickly launched before the logs started rolling. Found some really big waves (not smooth swell) but not much wind
. Got in a few reaches heading downwind; quickly arriving at Dog Beach. I couldn’t help but think of Michael’s last Acadia report and hope that he wasn’t just pulling into the parking lot!
Walked back along the road to Acadia and rigged the 5.0 but never took it out. Missed that short window while I was doing the walk of shame.
I suppose it wasn’t so bad for Friday the 13th: no broken gear, didn’t hit anything, stayed warm, got a few reaches, and didn’t have to swim in. Gotta have a positive attitude in this sport!
