I've been using a 198?/9? Simmer 3.4 foiling in Squamish most days. Could even go smaller when over 20knts at 160lbs. Put a couple holes in it, tuck tape it, and keep going! I find that small sails are pretty easy to manage even if poorly designed or rigged funky. At least way better off than being far overpowered on a nicer sail!

I used the smallest sail I had at the Wall in the Gorge. Wind was wicked; no problem more outhaul to flatten the sail.

What happens when the sail is too flat, the draft will move. Depending on the wind/gust, the pull of the sail could be towards the luff or near the clew. Uncontrollable sail, lesson learned.

Yes, this is what I've noticed with my old 3.3. The ability for the small area to be tuned was kind of nil. The jump from 4.2 to 3.3 was big. I've seen JonathanP make his sail work really well though. Maybe I should just try and get a mast more suited to my 3.3 and go with that.
