Morning Alton. The graphs on windguru list two wind speeds. I always thought that they were the lulls and the gusts, but have recently been informed that they are the average and the gusts, which makes sense. If that is true, it looks to be gusty! Are the southeasters always predicted to be gusty like that. I know from past experiences that it can be gusty, but it is usually quite manageable. I used to just look at the gusts as a windsurfer, but as a nube kiter, I am a more tentative.

No need to worry. Most of these models cannot accurately predict gusts. I've never seen it as gusty as the spread between average and gusts that these models suggests.

I’m guessing you’re gonna aim for dawn patrol at BB as it looks directionally challenged. Is the second one from the ferry terminal?

On a SE only 3rd Avenue will work

Use Google Maps to get there https://www.google.com/maps/place/49%C2 ... 123.036103

I'm planning an early start in case it gets too windy. I'll pump up a 7m and wait for the wind to ramp up ... then get off the water just before it gets too strong.

You might consider coming later when the wind ramps down ... but there's a chance it will ramp down rather quickly

Good sign. I hope it doesn't become uncivilized.
