Almost 3 hrs in marginal W 16-18 on 12m+surfboard. Fun in the sun with a few wave rides. Big turn out at Acadia.

Light. Parking lot was full of beach-goers and had to wait for a spot (felt odd with all the people around). Ethan got more rides than I did. There was a gentle pulse of about 15 mins - Ethan got rides and could drive up wind. I got one jump (barely) - graph is WAY overstated in the 'pulse" - don’t believe the hype! Still fun to get wet and play in the warm water on a sunny day!

Really good day on the water for me. 3.5 hours in the sunshine with nice waves and mediocre wind. Crazy numbers of kiters out, probably 50+ if you count the bunch that chose to sail down by the pier.

I'm curious why more people don't come up to Tower Beach at low tide more often. My guess for last Sunday was it was a bit light for them to make it upwind but it still seems people are happier to hang out in the small stuff down at Acadia. Obviously TT riders wouldn't want to be up there either.

Tower Beach is the next beach West of Acadia, it's denoted by the two WW2 gun towers. It delivers much more coastal like waves at low tides than you'll find at Acadia and Dog beaches.

Looks like you would need some good up wind sailing skills to get up there, windsurfing that would be a challenge. How deep is the water if the wind shuts down?

The water is about waist to chest high where it's breaking the best, it does depend on the swell size though.

It's about 800m straight upwind from the Acadia launch.

There is a long thing line of rock outcropping straight out from the east tower where the break starts and it goes all the way down to near the west dolphin.

You can see it well in this skim video at 1:42 (no big waves, it was LW day) but it's a good view of the start of the break

Thanks, I ended up googling it and managed to find it, but your extra info is great! Will head up that way next time I’m out at Jericho. I’m at the point where I’m looking for swell to chase on the foil, getting there on the foil shouldn’t be too hard
