No ice in the water but about 6m of ice on the beach at CNL.
About 10-15 knots.

Thanks for the OSR. Something tells me wind is playing tricks on us again. Metar taf and BWD say should be windy by now and windguru forecasts later. Not sure want to drive over just to see the ice. Hopefully you get some

The wind came up around 11:20 and the tide washed/ melted all the remaining shore ice.
Rigged 5.3 and took out the 101L. Nicely powered for the first few runs but it continued to build. More outhaul worked and sailed until about 1:30 as I had to leave. Nice knee to waist high ramps and the waves were starting to build when I left. Brian and Michael joined in and they were on their small boards. I should have switched to my 73L but didn't have much time. Nice to get out and it felt warm - didn't use the gloves much. Tried out the new booties and they were great. Hardly any water got in and my feet were toasty. Next session, maybe Thursday morning.

Well that was a lot more fun than I expected! Arrived at Centennial around 10 am to find light wind (10-15) and Darrell sitting in his van. We were getting antsy around 11am but by 1130 we heard the friendly roar in the trees and knew we should rig.
I started on 5.0 but took the 110 l in case of lulls. Probably about 18-24 when I launched but it quickly built to more like 20-30 so I flattened the sail and switched to the 95 l board. That was a handful in the gusts but just right for staying powered through the lulls.
Lots of nice waves available to play on. As it gradually clocked a bit south the steep ramps resulted in a few survival “big airs” heading out, but luckily no carnage. Michael told me after we finished that he stopped to check that he hadn’t cracked his board after a “big air/flat landing combo”!!
Darrell left for a commitment before Michael and I finally came off the water too overpowered (gusting 35 on the outside), but both with big smiles after a super fun session.

It was 9C at Centennial today. Pretty comfortable actually, at least until the rain started

Like Brian said, more fun than expected. Up and down, slogging, on the 5.3 80L, to way overpowered at the end when it hit 35 knots. Some nice ramps on the inside and a few nice rides on the outside. High jump and flat landing, not a good combo but board survived. A few pics.
