Michael - many thanks! You saved me the agony of watching the wind graph.

The webcam decided to join us for skiing at Cypress this morning. We shredded 6" on the groomers, and 18" on the secret runs. Much more snow than the reported 10 cm. Wow that webcam can really ski!

Wow, Michael, those pictures look more like the arctic! Bet the water temperature has dropped noticeably too.
I guess I won’t make the drive to Centennial until we have an “all clear” ice report. :)

No problem. I gave in and went to Point Roberts. Had to pick up a package for my son anyways and when I arrived at Lighthouse Park to some epic looking conditions I had to rig. Darrel scored the best of it though. Only got in a few reaches before the wind was not enough for my 80L 4.7 combo, I should have known better than to try the small board at PR. Should have gone big from the start but packed it in anyways as Darrel was done and the wind and waves were dropping.

That's for sure, had a few moments in the water underpowered at PR and it was frosty!!

Went to locust with Dan, great fun on our 9m’s, only us 2 there. The air was not too cold but the water was chilly. The steps down to the beach were completely frozen so that made for a fun walk down but no ice in the sea.

Arrived just before 10am and it was SE 20-25 and waves were wrapping around the point and rolling down to the parking lot. Rigged 4.7 and took out the 101L and was fully powered to overpowered. Came back in and flattened my sail and went back out. Waves were chest high with bigger sets coming through with many head high. Saw a set of 3 rollers that were well overhead just after the tide starting to emb and got a couple turns on the middle one. :D
Sailed alone until Michael and 4 or 5 Kiters arrived around 12:45 and came off the water around 1:30 when the wind backed off to below 20. 3 hours TOW and it started off cold but by noon I took the gloves off and it was fine. Felt bad for Michael as by the time he got on the water it started backing off and the water state calmed considerably. The Kiters seemed pretty happy with a couple guys getting some serious boosts off the rollers before they all went up around the point to play in the breaking waves on the South facing shore. It came back up as I was leaving but looking at the Ferry Terminal Graph, it backed off again shortly after that. One surfer out on a high volume board catching some long rides on the wrapping waves along the West shore.

Nice.
Ended up foiling 4.7 Caulfield cove solo. (WHERE' S ALTON?)
Launched off the rocks as usual. Nice flat water and warm, protected onshore, sideshore 15- 20 kts. A bit gusty and some debris in water, but otherwise sureal with the view of the mountains. Got off the water around 5 as it was getting a bit dark...
