Looks like a good chance of a sailable NW’ly this afternoon. Probably stronger at Tswassen but the very high tide (4.7m at noon) could be problematic. I may try Locarno if the wind makes it there.

Wind was OK for foiling but waves were much bigger than expected and the shore pound was xlarge!!! Didn't feel like trying to get my foiling gear out through that. Hopefully next time the tide will be a bit lower.

AJ and I scored a short session at Spanish Banks during the midday peak. Nice 6.0 windsurfing conditions for me and 8m kiting for AJ but it shut down quickly and we slogged back to shore, finishing with a short swim. Nicer waves than expected in the fairly light wind- too bad it didn’t last longer.
Still great to get some good runs and a bit of exercise in the warm sun.

Hey Michael, were you at Gulf Rd yesterday? If the shore break was bad during the high tide, I wonder if the north side of the ferry terminal may have been a better option. Dave and I have windsurfed there a few times. It’s a short walk from the small paved parking area to the launch in fairly flat water. For windsurfing, the waves get a bit better if you head out toward the end of the spit but foiling would be easier in the bay near the launch.
Only good during high tides, of course. The bay dries up during low tides!

Thanks Brian, yes I was at Gulf Rd. I've sailed the North side of the terminal a few times but though it would be too weedy for the foil, I remember it being very thick over there and it does get shallow quick!
