Epic 3 hrs session. 9m then 7m then back to 9m+surfboard. Perfectly dialed in steady SSE 20-25. Huge turn out. Super fun riding waist to chest high waves from the boat launch down to Centennial. Smooth water was way better than expected. Wish everyday was like this.

:D :D :D

Marathon morning at Centennial. On the water at about 915, and stayed out until 1145. Spent the morning on 5.0/85 litres - had to bag it out a bit when it lightened but had just enough power to stay upwind and play in the few nice waves I could find off 3rd Ave (near the shore, and mid-bay). Glad I saw this morning's EC upgrade to SE 20-30 for Georgia Straight, otherwise I probably wouldn't have risked the drive with the so-so forecast. Lucky guess today!!

Surprise. Wasn't expecting much of anything so this was an 'upgrade', even with the wind oscillating and no swell. Tired to make the 4.5/92 work a few times, but it was all 5.3/116. Had a fun front row view of M carving an outside gybe in a bowl. 8-) Nice to hit the last of the local streak of wind. Close to 20 windsurfers out (and Alton on kite). Thanks to Brian C for the early OSR (and M for the follow-up text).

Thanks for the pics Dave. Fun day, super choppy and the wind was up and down but it was great to see such a large turnout of windsurfers!

Huh??? Waves were clean upwind between the boat launch and Centennial (ie. minimal chop)

Yes, I found the waves were best upwind of Centennial, near 3rd. With the up-and-down wind most people who launched at Centennial didn’t go very far upwind and missed it.
Best clean swell was last Wednesday, when the whole bay was filled with “beauties”!!
