Does anyone know how to forecast Tofino?
I think you want a SE
I'm not sure if Saturday is worth driving up there or maybe Comox
Maybe nitinat for Sunday or monday

Work your way down under weather tools.....
Windguru Tofino look for NW flow then check BWD.... http://www.bigwavedave.ca/forecasts.php,
cross check with EC...https://weather.gc.ca/city/pages/bc-17_metric_e.html it should mention strong NW wind.
Then Magic Seaweed for swell and wind.

NW flow is best for Long Beach and South Chesterman's, I've never sailed a SE but others have, not ideal conditions though.

I don't see any wind on the Island on Saturday.

I would not suggest trying to get out on SE in Tofino. I often wondered about Muscle beach near Ukie, but in Tofino look for NW wind.
I tried kiting a couple of times in SE stormy weather. It was a battle. Sure I got out, but it was a short session, and was lucky to get back. Wind would go from 5 to 20 kts every 30 seconds or so.

Tofino is good on SE but it'll be wet.

Thanks for the info. It looks like nitinat is the best bet this weekend.
Tofino might be worth it in the fall or winter for sure.

LDW1 – SUP sail – Long Beach (2019 Aug 30)

Image
Sloppy. Looked more like Lake Ontario wind swell than Long Beach from the shore, but there were a few ground swell to be had. Mainly backside pinching given the side-on wind/wave angle. One other wind person out trying a 12 m OR Roam but losing a lot ground, walking the beach and repeating. Nice to get out after being land bound on the travel day the day before.
