1. Check out Temperature Grid looking for clear sky from Squamish to Lillooet and reasonable temperature gradient from Vancouver to Squamish and from Squamish to Lillooet. Minimum 4C from Vancouver (colder) to Lillooet (hotter)

2. Check out WindGuru for Squamish. Compare cloud predictions against Temperature Grid. Also, look for minimum SW 3 to 4 knots inflow

3. After sunrise, check the web cams for actual cloud conditions in Lillooet, Permberton, Whistler and Squamish Gondola. Also, check Satellite image

4. You can check for Howe Sound inflows at Environment Canada but I generally don't trust their predictions

5. Finally, check out actual wind conditions on SWS sensor

My prediction for today is not good unless clouds clear out better than predicted this afternoon

I also like to check EC's Lillooet forecast on the day of, look for SW winds in the 40-50 km/h range.

Fantastic day in Squamish. Was debating staying local for the northwest, but wanted to pack the day so made the extra drive.

On the water by spit cliffs SUP fishing at 8, caught and kept a pink Salmon and lost a couple others. Once the wind picked up I drifted back to the Spit. Rigged up the foil and foiled for about 3 hours with lots of familiar faces.

Came in to watch the big air competition. Did not disappoint, amazing watching Aron Hadlow and all the other folks.

Wind had picked up to 21g30 so I decided to head back out for an hour on TT. Fun boosting session, even got to ride with Louis Crathern in the river, well until he jumped over the spit to the honey hole, twice. Check out kite clash highlights, it was awesome!!

Looks a bit weak. I'm considering a trip tomorrow afternoon. What are the odds the wind will be closer to 20 kts?

EC Squamish has the wind lighter all week, warmer temps in the city can at times resist the thermal gradient affect, I am hoping for a couple evening sessions this week but they will likely be light in at the spit, tomorrow afternoon at Jericho may be just as windy as there is a strong gradient up the valley.

...which would make three decent Jericho days in a row, given today's graph looked decent too.

I think odds are good later in the afternoon ... but it may be a little gusty and short lived

Day 33 - Epic 2 hr 7m session in SW 24 gusting 28. Punchy and choppy at the Spit but steady and smooth down at Nexen. Super fun hitting wavelets on my surfboard down at Nexen. Great way to end the week.
