Forecast says mainly sunny tomorrow. Hopefully the wind machine will autocorrect.

Day 6 - Scored the early session in marginal SW 16-18 with 12m + TT for 1 hour (11:30-12:30) in the river. Called it quits when it became gusty then darted off.

Day 7 - AltonJR scored 1.5 hrs on 12m+TT in SW 16-18 - not bad after a 3 year sabbatical ... then my turn was only 0.5 hrs before it got crazy at 3:30pm.

Another novelty session...
I was driving up to Squamish around 130 today and noticed heavy clouds forming to the north (not a good sign for wind quality).
Saw whitecaps and made a snap decision to stop at Porteau Cove, where I was surprised to find several windsurfers rigging and light but sailable wind.
I’ve always wanted to try the place so I decided that today was the day. The wind was very steady, water was warm, and there was no chop; all of which made for pleasant slalom sailing. Of course the issue is wind strength: I’d say it was 15, gusting to 17 knots. I was having a great time on 7.0/110 litres but if you can’t enjoy large gear, don’t go there. Would have been awesome for foiling today though.
A few other upsides were the super-long reaches, no crowds (4 windsurfers and one guy sup-foiling with a wing today), easy drive, and bonus sighting of 2 dolphins while I sailed.
Overall, a nice alternative to a gusty afternoon at Squamish.
