A quick question about Iona. Is there a gate right at/after the parking lot that restricts you from driving further out along the access road? Not the pier access but the road (Ferguson Rd) that goes out along the spit NW from the parking lot.

Thanks, thought it might be worth taking a look at tomorrow morning dawn patrol (if the forecast holds) but not if there's a gate.

You don't have to walk down the beach too far, you could even launch right in front of the parking area.

if you want to do a quick scout of Iona you can do it from the viewpoint on SW Marine pretty well. It looks out at the spot you'll be riding, bring binocs if you have 'em.

Just finished up at Gary Point Park. Still about 20 knots and sunny but I'm done. 4.7 and 101L was perfect all morning.
