Scored the low tide session from 12-2pm on 7m+surfboard in SSE 23 gusting 30 at 3rd Avenue. Steep chest high ramps with smooth sections upwind of the boat launch perfect for plenty of toe side hits. Oddly overpowered as we approached shore but very civilized outside. Big turn out with over 20 kites on the water.

Started getting gusty and holey by 2pm so called it quits and just missed the Massey Tunnel of Hell.

6/10 wind and 7/10 waves. Smoother than expected for high water. Overall good workout today.

I heard the waves were better earlier on Alton, I wouldn’t know though, I was at home because I’m sick.

Arrived at CNL around 11:20 AM and rigged 3.7 as others said it had come up. Took out the 73L for 1 run but was slogging most of the time. It was SSE 15 gusting to 25+ so came in and switched to the 101L but kept the 3.7 as I had limited time. Powered and planing most of the time but there were a number of lulls but you could stay moving and pump back up to speed off a wave. A couple starboard jumps and linked a few turns at the middle bank but had to leave at 1:30 PM. Nice to get out as no TOW for over a month and it was good to see some familiar faces. Additionally, it was nice to be underpowered for once especially for some of those backside rides and not being in sailing shape.

The 2:30- 3:30 shift was terrible, gggusty, choppy and mostly underpowered on my 10m dice.

The 4-dark was much better. Wind shifted back to SE and seemed to sort itself and the waves out. Only 2 other optimists stuck around.

Dan’s kite require position lights and registration now?

Great session for me today, out from 11:00 'till 3:00. Started out overpowered on the 6.5m but it settled down.

Drove north through the tunnel without even slowing down at 4:30.

Last session for two months for me

Sounds like my CB day. Got to the beach early and was first on the water, rigged 4.3/80L and though I'd be over powered. Was for the first reach then it dropped. Came in and waited for an hour for the wind to return. Ryan was out on a 5.0 and it looked like it had kicked in again so I went back out on the 4.3 but it wasn't enough. I kept thinking it was going to crank so didn't go in and rig up. Bad decision which kept me trying to stay up wind the entire time and not catching many waves. Waves were small for the most part anyways but caught a few nice ones and got in a few nice hits. Finally gave in and rigged my 5.2 but by that time even that wasn't enough. Was an off day for sure. :(

Saturna had only 2 readings over 30 knots... at 9am and 10am. 10 am was the best wind, by forecast, decreasing after. 1145 at PR had a few waves, by 3pm no more. PR had wind, from noon to 3pm when it switched South. Sandy shores steady at 20 knots in sync with Saturna; marginal for waves; 3 of us PR. Nothing for a while.

Had a great day out there! Got on the water Around 10:30 on the 4.5/95L. Wind was super strong just off shore and I was way overpowered. Came in for the 3.7/76 and that was a struggle to stay upwind, especially further out. Found the 4.5/95L was great if you just held on through the gusts close to the beach. Definitely felt rusty out there as it’s been a while since I was on the water. Everything was out of adjustments. Harness lines way off, footstraps set up for summer cruising and missing my chinook baseplate (thanks Darrell) still managed to have lots of fun!!! 7.5/10 day for me.
