Pretty lit this morning. 2 hrs overpowered on 9m+surfboard in gusty SSE 25+. Should have downsided to 7m if I'd known it would last over 2 hrs.

Quite the rodeo ride hitting chest high steep ramps heading outbound ... but rewarded with sweet toe side wave rides inbound.

8 to 10 kiters at 3rd Ave. 4 windsurfers at Centennial.

Thanks to Michael for birthday gift and lunch.

Fyi, if whidbey goes from 15 to 22 then Saturna is bound to increase, if locust beach is over 20, then sandy shores will match 20 minutes later ... if locust decreases, whidbey decreases then bb will go down. If locust is strong and whidbey is increasing it will spill to bb in time. At 6am saturna looked grim but locust and whidbey were holding and increasing, forecast switched to 9 am peak. All together help. Locust tomorrow does not look strong so waves will not be there. My 2c, my mickey mouse logic works after looking at 40+ SE’s

Lands end. Arrived to see Tsawwassen lit and two others launching. Rigged 4.5/92 to start. Caught one ride out on SSE and then it swung SSW (side off and steadier than usual, but still puffy). Steep ramps on the way out and some smoothies on the way in, but the fickle wind and last of the flooding tide pushed me down the beach to below the concession near lands end (the last point before Beach Grove). Walked back up and gave it a second try with larger board (116), fun that! Then it was done. Sun. Wind. Swell. Fun windsurfing snack.

Thanks for taking the pics C36. I looked more confident at the begging of my session. It was a humbling experience for me today, with two walks of shame...
PS It was nice to meet you guys in person.

i was overpowered on 9.5m early morning, i guess those wind meters reading you guys using are way under reality. was very strong from down till pass 10.
i go wt Gspot gfs prediction.

also winds seem much stronger 100m out in the water, so maybe the reading from the beach require a plus 10-15 kn?

be nice if government install a weather reading station at the Mile marker....

Wednesday was my second session at BB. As Pavel mentioned earlier, a challenging session as a BB noob. Arrived as the sun was coming up. Rigged 5.5. Just as we went out the wind picked up. Gave it a go but 5.5 was too much. Re-rigged a 4.8. Still too much. By then I was too cold to be bothered to re-rig again and called it a session. Sometimes getting familiar with a new sailing spot requires learning to windsurf all over again. :D. BB is a VERY different experience than summer sailing in English bay on a 7.5, 114l. But...this is how we grow and learn.

Thank you to the BB crew for extending a warm welcome to us rookies. Saw some familiar faces (Tony and Alton). It was great to meet other WTF members and put faces to their WTF names (Michael and David). Great to meet you guys. Look forward to sailing with you again.
