At Stearman beach in W Van now. Point Atkinson reading claims high 20s but I’d say it’s more like 15 knots here. A bit offshore too (SE would be better here than E) Would definitely be okay on a kite here but a bit light to bother windsurfing

Ps - whitecaps look better a couple hundred meters offshore where the wind looks steadier. A big board would work fine but might require slogging out to the wind line, which I am not inclined to do solo at this time of year.

Locust for the win!!!

20gusting to low 30s for the first hour then dropped off from there.

When I got to the beach there was no wind in close and nobody around.

I rigged up my 10m and checked everything thrice, then proceeded to drift launch my most exciting drift launch to date!!

as soon as I waded a lines length away from beach wind was full on. I let my kite go in the water, it immediately got spun by a wave and went airborne. Kite flew inverted about 10’ off water until lines went taught, a quick steering line pull and away I go. Belive I have discovered an entirely weed free self launch technique.

About 5 minuites after that stunt the next rider showed up...

In the end about a half dozen kiters, wind was patchy but very fun in the patches.

I like riding powered up :D

Less like self launching powered up :?

I don't have iWindsurf. Could someone kindly post today's wind graph for Boundary Bay? Thank you.

Got in a WS session with 5.7/106L 9-1 south of Bellingham. Weeds mostly gone and water was nearly dead flat. Pretty much gybe practice and blasting.
Tried my new to me 95L Quatro Quad LS but not quite steady enough to make it work in its currently underfinned state. Going to get some K4 Rockets for onshore use since the board itself seems capable of planing well enough. A very comfortable ride that turns on a dime.

I saw a few windsurfers out today but didn't look like they were planing. Did you get out today?

Rode the morning shift on 12m + surfboard. Only marginally powered. Got bored mowing the lawn. Called it quits at noon. Over a dozen kiters and about 3 windsurfers.

Thanks for for posting the graph (and Alton). I was out today (along with Pavel). Counted 14 kites and us two windsurfers. Rigged 6.0. A little planing in the gusts but generally under powered overall 6.5 would have been better. Still, this was my first time ever sailing at Boundary Bay. It was a great time regardless. Look forward to sailing BB again soon weather permitting.
