While the EC buoy might be reading a bit high, it's at least 15 degrees man. The water temp is a reflection of our air temp. Think about the lows we've had, it's only like 12-13 degree lows. How the hell would the water get to 8 degrees???

That site list the max August water temp in Vancouver as 12.4 degrees ... we get up to about 23 degrees every year.

Trust me, the EC buoy is a good tool to judge the water temp. The Kits and Jericho lifeguards take physical readings in the mornings too and post them on chalk boards at the beach, that's the only thing better.

Also the coldest our water gets in the dead of winter is 6 degrees. I wear my 6/5/4 hooded suit if the water is under 13 degrees.

Jericho sensor looking good right now. Went to PR today to avoid the crowds but it was marginal (15knots). Thigh to waist high waves though.

Had a gusty, on/off day in Bellingham. Started OP'D with 5.7/foil ended with 7.4/foil and slogging. Getting comfortable with the foil on the new board and it's especially good with the smaller sails.

Made the mistake of committing to early afternoon wind, slogged it out on my 12m in 12-15 knot conditions at Acadia. It’s been 20+ knots at kits from 4:00 onwards, I should have gone there. ☹️

Triple session.

12m Morning at Tswassen was mediocre 15-20knots. I did not last long as I got hit by a migraine after about an hour. Yuk, got home and laid down with the kids.

Felt better and the family went down to East beach. Rode for another hour around 2 on the 15m, much better. Clean wind and well powered 13-16 knots. Boardshorts!!’

Played at the beach all day. Then Wind got really warm, and ramped up. I went out for another 45mins around 7. 18g25 side offshore on the 15m, floaty lifts and hard to hold an edge. Wore a shorty bc the offshore thing is sketchy, not that going through customs is going to be any easier in wetsuit.

Finished up with family swimming in a friends pool.

Wiped and well past everyone’s bedtime.

Great session at Jericho on Saturday. Good wind from 4 to 7pm, +20 knots. Rigged 5.4m and 92l Kode, fully powered. Not too choppy, warm wind and water, felt tropical :D Doesn't get much better than that. Surprised there were not more windsurfers and kiters out. Where were all the usual suspects?

Ya, my phone was beeping like crazy from all the iwindsurf.com alerts! Couldn't make it though.
