It wasn't epic but just good to get out. Pretty sustained wind though light so managed to get going with 6m and Luke on 12m.

It felt more out about 20 knots.

There were about 6 of us at kits. Everyone tried early on only to struggle to get up wind, then after about an hour of that it picked up to high teens, low twenty’s for about 1 hour of being well powered on my 12m. The sun even poked its head out for a few minutes. Cold but worth going out.

Two footers. I got a little nervous about the temp when I saw an actual of three degrees before I boarded the ferry (what happened to the forecast high of seven), but the five degrees at the beach was doable sans gloves (just). Beware the new ‘speed ditch’ at the entrance to the park. Kites were on it early and then cleared off just as the wind peaked. Wind was up and down early on (4.5/92 was too big, then 4.0/74 was too small) but then it settled in for most of the day (4.5/92). Mutts were out in numbers and made up most of the crew today. There were lots of frontside tries, a solid dose of hits and some spinning - I saw Winddoctor land a clean endo forward and touchdown a backloop. Average sized waves – the locals were calling them “two footers” and saying how ‘small’ they looked compared to the XXL stuff that had been rolling through lately. But there were a few ‘treats’ to be had when the odd sneaker set rolled through (including the one I was lucky enough to catch early on that got a first pump from WD). There were a few workable shoulders down in Udderland on the high/mid-tide that were smile-worthy too. A second set of kites joined in later on - one throwing ‘buckets’. Still lots of wind left for Udder and HiyoSilver when I left. Not epic, but a solid offering.

Nice pics Dave. I saw that backloop on the webcam and you went out right after him and went for one as well!

Dave nice work! Thought that was your van, at a glance of the cbtv cam...
Some good shots as usual!
I see chris has the new interweave battons going on there; firelights have them this year now too wondering how they are all in all... Personally think they are a weird innovation. Never know...
Glad you made it over there ... :)
