Sunday forecast has not been moving for days... looks like 40 knots to me for bb.

Very high tide before 11am.

16ft tide, 40 knots @9am.

also it may switch SW at noon to me , partly sunny? ... expect SW forecast

Last storm like this (16 ft tide, 40 knots), produced massive rollers at 1001 steps. Watching, it was humbling. Good luck. Hope Alton will brave this one (VR kiting may not help)

Did any windsurfers get out today? Would like to hear how it was.

Dave, Richard and I were out. Nice steady wind that seemed to just keep building. Started on 5.2 102L which was too much shortly after hitting the water. I eventually went down to my 80L with the 5.2, wish I had of done that earlier. That was a nice combo and lots of fun. Waves were small and near the end they really dropped off but I still found a few nice little ramps, sailed for a close to 3 hours. Glad I got a warm up for Sunday's session.

Better. I decided to gamble and go against the grain of the forecasts and put my money on Centennial today (as they have been a little ‘off’ lately) and it paid. Early morning actuals were showing wind to the south of us and graph looked to be ramping up, so it was beating time. I arrived at the beach just in time to see the swell start to roll on the high tide. Tsawwassen and I both rigged big to start (5.3/115 for me) and it was playful, small snakes and ladders to start. Stable, gradually increasing wind, kind wind/wave angle, gentle ebb tide, and rolling swell all combined to make for a better set up today. Increasing wind had be size down to 4.5/92 early on. The wind swell built for a while and provided some smooth, quiet rides way out in ‘Michealand’ and then it seemed for get blown flat and got a little choppy and confused. Ramps were best early on and also seemed to melt away too. Despite Tsawwassen’s flu, he did a yeoman’s shift today and didn’t seem to want to leave the water (despite the numb foot). The overwintering Bald Eagles kept watch over those sailing today.

BBY sensor is showing 18 gusting to 25 now, up from 16 to 20 at 7 am this morning. Maybe another stealth day like yesterday with the actuals being better than the forecast.

Day 2 - Solid 2 hr session slightly overpowered on 7m+surfboard (SSE 25-30). On the water at noon with James, Chalmers, Ralph, Jeryn ... (8 kiters at noon). Small waist high nicely formed breaking waves outside of the boat launch. Another fun day of play in the waves. A couple of waves closed out on me - ouch. Also, tons of boosting.

Went downwind to meet up with Michael windsurfing down at Centennial. Surprisingly not many windsurfers today.

Late arrivals at 1:30pm included Chuck, Cash and many more.

Great warm up for Sunday
