NE's started showing 2 years ago, weakens SE's, pushes NW's to the island. It's been a low session count for everybody in '17 no matter how clever you are moving around this area ... expecting the same in '18.

It was blowing approx 15kts ENE which was interesting, outgoing tide made life easier given the light winds.

Sucker punch. Surprised by SSE 9 am spike to 30 mph. Looked good on arrival - playful waist-high mini swell trains on the king tide. Was slightly spooked by being the only one there (at Centennial) and a little apprehensive about the water temp so mistakenly took my time getting rigged and it tanked and spun east just before I launched 4.5/92. Sorry DB made the trip down, but appreciated the company. Rerigged 5.3/115 in an effort to keep warm in case it rebounded and tried to milk the punky, shifty, gusty east wind and only got fits (me) and starts (gear). The kites has more luck, but I never really got going. Water wasn't as cold as I was expecting, but that wind was cooler when it spun east.

Hey that's me thanks for the pic C36! I was shocked to find myself riding a 6.5m yesterday. It was great while it lasted.
