Feels like 20 knots at locust but water is way out. Chilling at woods coffee until water comes in. 1 kiter out

Locust delivered. 15 to 30 knots. At start everyone but me on 12m and up and feeling inadequate with 6m. 10 mins later everyone but me rushed back to shore. Now feeling more than adequate.

Looks like Locust was the right call ...

Was good on 12M but was a 1/2 hour lull mid session as lots of others arrived. Lucky it came back but then then tapered off early afternoon. Incoming tide made generally messy water unless you were on a twin tip in the shallows. Thick weeds.

First session for a long time, when I arrived at 330 it was still and flat, luckily it picked up to what felt like 15-20 plus. Lots of new kiters on the beach, one fellow set up his lines in a weird S pattern on top of mine, another dude almost decapitated me and landed on my lines. Anyway still a nice friendly vibe on the beach.

Once out was well powered on 10, with better than Squamish waves, around the marker but even better close to shore, a few walled up ones real close in. Some clumps of weeds but not too bad as they were easy to see and avoid. Great to get out.

Really nice to get in my first Centennial session of the season. Thought the 5.3 was going to be too small when I hit the water, there were a few kites in the water and the sensor was only showing 13 knots, but was nicely surprised when I got planning. Wind picked up and was fully powered for about an hour. Unfortunately just as Dave hit the water the wind started to switch and came down. Dave went back out as it looked like it moved back south and had picked up. He managed to get in some rides but it looked too light for me to go back out.
Water was choppy with a few small ramps but a fun session. Thanks for joining me Dave and taking a few pics. :D

Locust: Up and down. Disappointing. Mostly down after a solid start. Heavy weed. Punchy wind. Friendly locals.

Centennial: Pot of Gold. Stopped in at Centennial on my way home and found Tsawwassen out on his 5.3 and well powered. Got nervous that it was going to tank while I rigged when I saw the hole in the sky approaching from the west. Short lived first stint - a few rides, jumps and gybes. Second stint followed the rainbow and looked for the pot of gold with sunshine and SSW wind. No leprechaun. Still fun.

BBay delivered today for those willing to wait.

The iKite sensor graph doesn't feel like a good representation of the wind today, CZBB is actually more what it was like on the water.

I got on the water at 1:00 - 1:40 for a LW session on my 12m and freshly fixed skim in what felt like 12-14 knots. Then the wind died and I stood on a sandbar with my kite at 12 for 20 minutes about 400m from shore. Finally the wind came back and was a solid 15-18 knots just long enough to lure Cash back out, as he hit the water it died again.

2 hours later after Cash took one for the team and packed up and left then the wind came up almost immediately, this time proper wind. Anywhere from 18-25 knots. Scored almost another 2 hours on the 12m + SB, would have rather been on my 9m but 12m was manageable.

Second session rocking the Wave Bandit and again it delivered. This board just makes me push it so much harder than my other boards where I might sit back and cruise.

The stock fins do very well in the weeds and once you get some they are very easy to clear with a small chop hop or a carve to 180 and ride backwards. Also good to have the option to ride backwards for the serious weed patches near shore.

Got to test the board in the surf today and it performed better than I expected, mega fun to slash with even though the waves weren't amazing today. I even found myself doing a layback recovery on one turn. Stomped some air 180s and duck tacks too.

The heel dents don't look much worse than after the first session so that's a good sign for durability.
