Pebble. Fought traffic up and arrived at the peak of the wind. Sailed up to the spit, river and beyond, but the surface wind was unstable and streaky. Guys were making 10m and twin tips work, but nothing on the surface. Best part was I noticed a small pebble was jammed in my boom cleat (I had been puzzling over why my outhaul had been slacking off lately - mystery solved). Overheard one of the locals describe it as a "tease". Some fun moments but not sure it was entirely worth it.

Started at 12:30 in a lull on 12m which stranded me and Francis down at Nexen. When the wind returned we launched from Nexen and return to the Spit. Overpowered on 12m+TT (but great for boosting) so downsized to 9m+surfboard for plenty of fun in SW 25. Great 2.5 hour session in sunny Squamish with many (too many) familiar faces.

Saw plenty of freestyle action in the river. Way to go windsurfers!

Sunday river report. Around 4:00, it picked up to a nice 3 - 20 knots in the river. Perfect for a nice 30 minute session.

Après was at Mags 99. I ordered the chilaquiles with chicken. According to wikipedia, "it is a traditional Mexican dish. Typically, corn tortillas cut in quarters and lightly fried are the basis of the dish. Green or red salsa or mole is poured over the crisp tortilla triangles, called totopos. The mixture is simmered until the tortilla starts softening. Pulled chicken is sometimes added to the mix. It is commonly garnished with crema, shredded queso fresco, raw onion rings and avocado slices. Chilaquiles can be served with refried beans, eggs (scrambled or fried), beef and guacamole as side dish.
As with many Mexican dishes, regional and family variations are quite common. Usually, chilaquiles are eaten at breakfast or brunch. This makes them a popular recipe to use leftover tortillas and salsas. They are also served as the last meal in a long wedding party close to morning in what is called a tornaboda."

Even though it is a traditional breakfast or brunch dish, I had it for dinner. It's what you would call "freestyle eating."

Bit of a slow start with high cloud looming overhead but wind gradually ramped up from SW 16 to 20 for 2.5 hours of fun 12m+surfboard conditions. Good turn out.

:D :D :D
What a killer afternoon!

Sunny warm 10m down at Hunter Beach for a couple of hours this afternoon. 2mm short sleeve suit was almost too warm with most of the crowd (all six kiters worth) in shorties/boardies. Waaaaaaay lit on my 14m and even with the extra wintergut ballast

Sure felt like summer out there, hopefully more on tap!

If you can deal with the long weekend traffic, it's looking like another good day at Squamish.
