Super duper steady SW 18-22. Perfect for 9m+TT. 3 hrs of boosting in flat water. Not as smoky as yesterday - could actually see a bit of blue sky over head.

Finally got a chance to check out the Spit for the first time today.
What an awesome spot! Flat water and over 20 knots of wind.
Felt a little intimidated being the only windsurfer out there though. Is this usually the case?

Another hazy day today made for strange conditions out of Nexen but good wind up by the cliffs. Very easterly at Nexen which made for weak wind in the bay and hard work slogging on the 6.0/111 Futura to get out. Apparently it has been that way all week. It took about 15 minutes of hula to make it up to the wind line. The payoff was worth it - steady 22 knots and flat water at the outer cliffs.
As Dave said earlier this week, the light was spooky (surreal), but it was still fun ripping around. Hopefully the smoke clears tomorrow and we get a couple of "normal" days.

Next kitoween -- all I need is a hair like that and a lot of mineral sunscreen.

Eclipse. Today the moon eclipsed the sun and my son eclipsed me on the water (planing 90% of the time to my 10% of the time). Ethan was keen to take out his 9 m, but eclipse, late start and cloud in the valley all told me 12 m would be better choice for him and 6.1 for me. Ethan’s return to Squamish was victorious – launch (off the bank), kiteboard, landing! He even had time to look around on the water to enjoy the spectacular scenery commenting on Shannon Falls, Mount Garibaldi, Squamish Chief, Malamute, cliffs, estuary, contrasting water colours (sandy brown of river and clear blue of the sound), and the wildlife including the seals eating salmon. Ethan was able to keep moving even in the lull (just him and the foils) while I just bobbed around in the sound but was able to milk a few rides in the river. Ethan seemed to enjoy using me as a pylon. Then the wind bumped enough to bring me alive and Ethan and I got both play for a while. He was able to drive upwind and into the mouth of the river. Fun (proud parent) day for sure!

Of note this was session 63 (reverse of C36).

Nice report for Monday Dave. Great to hear that C36 junior is doing so well and that you were all appreciative for simply getting out. Good reminder for me as I was underwelmed kiting (given I had my eye on a windsurf session didn't help - late and weak wind arrival).

Yes - Shannon Falls (corrected in the original post). Thanks for pointing that out.
