For anyone who may have been at work feeling a bit jealous today, fear not. It was a rigfest/slogfest day at Centennial. Arrived to see lots of whitecaps and promising wind at 845, so rigged 5.0. By the time I found a dog-walker to help with the dry suit zipper, it was almost over. Planed away from the beach and slogged thereafter. Took a break and chatted for a while with Darrell and Dave, then decided that I should have rigged the 5.7. That was probably true at 9 am but not by the time I tried it. Felt a few little nudges from the waves while sailing inbound, but otherwise just more slogging.
After an early lunch, Darrell decided to take out his 6.6 "session-saver" so I gave it one last try with a bagged-out 6.0. This time we both planed away from the beach, but the wind patch was only near the shore, and rapidly shrinking! We each got a few short runs and then decided to cut our losses and beat the tunnel traffic.
Enjoyed the warm spring air, thigh-deep water (very reassuring in sketchy wind!), and socializing. Centennial was taunting us today though.
