Hey dudes! Here's a very small video clip of January 8th furry creek I was blabbing on about. Just wanted to share the water conditions. Btw this was, to date, the windiest day I've ever sailed... my body is shredded today... lol enjoy

That looked nice! Were the rollers bigger on the outside?

Hey Darrel, it was pretty consistent all in all, if it were not on a high tide maybe a better swell would develop... in the river mouth on the north sand bar they'd build up nicely though.
Definitely come out on the next one; I actually stopped in at porteau cove on the way up thought you may have dropped in there.

Pissed I didn't have my gear for this one! Next big one for sure. Gotta prototype some new glove options though...

in December I took the ferry from Horseshoe bay to Sunshine coast in the outflow. Rollers were chest high. Too rocky at bowen island to see a clean break. The conditions are extreme at that temperature.
Adrian you may need a buddy and an escape plan, just in case gear is not good. Most importantly have 7mm gloves (R4 patagonia) just in case. If you need to paddle back any skin exposure will freeze; I had frozen fingers with 5mm gloves, you'll need 7mm (i overstayed a surf session)

Yeh, I had the van loaded and was planning to leave the house around 10:30 am that day but the next thing I noticed it was 12:30 and I still hadn't finished what I needed to get done yet. Did you launch from the golf course or in front of the Condos? Today Pam Rocks was cranking again today but it was windy (still is) locally as well.

Newb question when it comes to cold weather gear, but why are your hands exposed? Don't they get cold!?

That looks way beyond my comfort level! Holy man. My fingers would've been frozen within minutes.
I like the idea of a heated glove. That would be awesome. Battery powered to last 60 minutes or so.
