nice waves, 1m + strong local wind. 3:30-4:30pm

WB has a nice wedge at 13ft tide over rocks, sadly none knows.
Missed it, next time (too short a sessions for surf).

By the time I had my 9m in the air at Iona it was solid 7m conditions. I decided to make use of the daylight I had and just go with the 9m. Very overpowered most of the time, 35 knot gusts.

Waves were okay, waist high in the bay and knee high breakers in the shallows.

Some good boosts with loads of wind to keep the board stuck to my feet like glue.

Packing up was a bit of a challenge in 35 knot gusts with little beach and on shore wind. Swam out far enough and flagged the kite then just zipped up the line and grabbed it.

When I was packing up my lines the wind blew my kite in the bag 50m down the beach.

On the water from 2:00-4:00.

Sadly I lost a fin near the end. Board still rode pretty good with 3 though, but expensive session.

Nice to see the President and VP of team slacker at Spanish Banks. Wind was good too, felt like 25+ for most of the session.

The high tide is the worst for waves but there were some good shaped rights breaking right on the beach at upper Acadia with one lonely windsurfer. Trees were close though. Also a few rollers off the breakwall east of Dog Beach. 3 out of 10 for the waves.

Double sesh! After a pow morning at Cypress, scored almost an hour at Spanish Banks on 7m+surfboard in WNW 20-25+. Chest high disorganized waves outside - much cleaner inside. Surprisingly warmer than expected.

Fun spending the afternoon with fellow slackers (Tony360 10m, 8mdude 6m/8m, Roxstock 9m/12m and RobW 9m).

Tony360's timing was perfect. First on the water (2pm) and first off (3pm) just as the wind dropped to 12m conditions.

Roxstock scored 2.5 hrs TOW by switching to 12m and riding til sunset.

No smoking. No people. These are computer generated models. iKitesurf / iWindsurf blend a Frankenstein concoction from different models (eg. GFS, NAM, WRF, CMC ...). This may work for long term forecasts but is very misleading for the short term.

When you require better wind models for your next windsurfing session, I suggest ignoring iKitesurf and looking at other models/forecasts such as WindGuru, UofW Atmos (BWD/G-Spot), RASP Canada and METAR/TAF. Because weather patterns are constantly changing every model/forecast is prone to error. As such it's important pay close attention to the model resolution and the init/run UTC time.

iKitesurf/iWindsurf have excellent forecasting (computer generated and human) ONLY for the Gorge. Notice that serious wind chasers and event planners never use iKitesurf/iWindsurf. Many of them use WindGuru.

Thx Alton. I'll check them out. Sounds like a lot of work, without getting paid.
Had too many good sessions this year, fun quota is overdrawn for 2016 local surf, missing a few is good for the soul ;)
