What a turn out today, I don't think I've ever seen that many at 3rd before. Fun session until my line broke when I was jumping and then my kite went into a death spiral. No injuries and no kite damage which is good news. Thanks Jeff and James for the help. It's started to get a bit crazy on the beach as the wind picked up, I saw 3 kites end up in people's gardens and one guy managed to "land" his on the roof of a house after being picked up off the beach trying to get to the water.

Hopefully everybody is ok and the kiters in question didn't damage anybody's property. Pissing off the local residents is one of the best ways to get kiting banned at 3rd.

Scored a 9m+surfboard session from 11:30-1:30pm at 3rd Ave. E 18-22 flat (no chop). Still patches of weed so had to boost to shake them off ... good hang time today. Preferred a smaller kite with no depower as a pre-caution in case I needed depower if it ramped up too quickly.

Lulled at 1:30pm so decided to call it quits while I was ahead. Was not interested in riding nuking conditions on an easterly. Wanted avoid an emergency landing in a residential area ... but had a tether waiting just in case.

As I came off the water the crowds arrived. Warned new arrivals of the impending wind but no one seemed concerned.

Sounds like some close calls after I left ... shame on them :?
