A waterfront house has been located and kiteboarder Jon Newman (a volunteer) is in charge of reinstalling the sensor equipment.

+1

Many thanks to sensor host and to the volunteer doing the install! If you see CG (wind chasing veteran) on the beach, please thank him in person!

Spoke to (and thanked) Jon Newman (BB sensor volunteer) who was foiling at Locarno this afternoon. This is what I learned.

Ryan (occasional kiter) offered his beach front property for the sensor. Ryan's backyard is the one right at the 3rd Ave kite launch. Sometimes he comes outside to help us launch and land kites - nice guy.

Jon has removed the old BB sensor but is awaiting an upgraded sensor from Sailflow.

Be like me, downgrade your account from Pro to Plus (or Free) and tell that it's because of that sensor. You can just upgrade once the sensor goes back online.

we can get together n chip 15$ each to get buy a wind sensor from WeatherUnderground n send the data back to them. on WU web site there is a link for affordable sensors. i give personnal time for physical install. i find ikitesurf fees an services not up to require. WU have a lots of people sending data for free and i suspect paid sites will compare or borrow those datas possibly. check out WU , its like wind on the water times 10. so much potential for us on that wheather site.

The WeatherFlow (windalert/ikite people) Sky looks like the perfect weather station:

Under $200 too.

But the real issue is location, we need a waterfront resident willing to have it on their roof and have reliable WiFi for it.

its about same price on Weather underground links too. You think park Canada or some government agency would have a wind sensor l on the mile marker at BB. seems to me its important info for boater, windsurfer , storm alert and data collection . maybe one of us know how to start the process to get solarpanelwindmeterwtdatasend installed on that mile marker from our tax money....
else then wifi, another way to send data wt sensor I heard is thru a sensor wt cell phone type sending data.(I heard ikitesurf use those sometimes) Now, if you install 4 of those around the bay wt same cell number sim device that alternately send data like every 5 min, not at the same time, feed on solar panel, we would be platinum. one close to park bathroom is key. another downwind . another close to 72 second. another point of white rock. maybe we, or they can install one at bathroom or beach....jezus, another at point Robert , another mid way of ferry tsawassenlol ok ok I know.

:D camera for the men or women bathroom !? Streaming live ... sounds illegal to me

I see your point, it saves time instead of driving around.
