It's pretty windy at the airport right now. Sand heads is 18 knots and the forecast looks like it could get stronger this afternoon. Fingers crossed.

I don't trust GFS this time of year so I'd say fantasy, go with TAF:

Thu 2am NW 7
Thu 8am-10am W 12
Thu 10am W 12

I would also be willing to bet that with a thermal pull from the city it'll wrap well in to Jericho and even be 13-15 knots by the time it gets there.

Whitecaps in English bay and I could see one kite out at Spanish banks from kits beach, I'm going to drive down and check it out.

Osr dog beach. The wind has not really filled in, the gusts feel good, in the high teens but the lulls are long. I can see one guy trying to drift launch at Acadia, I'm going to check that out.

I didn't go at Acadia, there wasn't any wind when I was there. Looks good now though, I gave up too soon.

I get to fill Alton in on what he missed for once?! Don't mind if I do! :D

I took out UBC club gear at Jericho for convenience: 5.5m + 125l freeride + boardshorts was perfect from 6:30pm-9pm. Well juiced in the gusts and very comfortable in boardshorts only. Went for a few forwards on the big gear and almost sailed out of 1 (portside ramps) 8-)

I forgot how much fun freeriding is!! Super fun session. Though I didn't check Acadia out, I have a feeling today would be one of those "Locarno wind" days, where the city thermal gives the last needed boost on a W flow to make it worth while.

Sorry Alton, you could've been out there ripping on a 12 or 9 in boardshorts!!

Friday afternoon, 6pm-9pm, Acadia/Jericho, it will be a repeat of yesterday's + better waves 8pm-9pm. We'll keep it quiet for Alton's sake.
