Tide over 12ft . From 7-9pm.
Wind : 15-18knots, just right for my 7m/racing Roberts.

South side/runway, only windsurfing, super smooth water. SE is just right when it skids off the runway into the water for a few more knots and more speed.
British airways double decker passed at 9pm, that thing is an apartment building.

Iona sounds like fun
Much closer than Tsawwassen on an SW day
Have you tried it in all wind directions?

Tucker,

funny, I was checking today's SE wind and tide. Saturna is SW, Northern strait SW, but I see East wind prevailing. I'll try Iona 7-9pm today if wind is there.

windsurfing: I find tide has to be over 12ft tide, otherwise fin will hit sand.

NW, NNW direction on the North side of jetty works. Never tried SW as I am thinking that the high jetty+gusty SW wind may not work as I get close to the jetty to tack. But kitesurfing on SW may work.
SE,SSE,S wind, off the runway for windsurfing only (as a kite may spoof pilots and they'll get banned). my old Roberts loves smooth water. But no windsurfers is ever there (I figure if my gear breaks I just drift to the jetty). exited to try planing carving gybes today.

I avoid Iona on SE simply due to the smell that comes of the sewage tailing ponds.

5 minutes every day, you'll shorten your healing by 50%.

Best machine ever, 2 years of use, like new. Pulled muscles, ligaments, it will work on them all (when it hurts it means muscle is pulled and blood is flowing, otherwise no sensation).

best money spent by far.

No smell on South side of Iona on SE, wind coming from runway and forest on left, maybe North side has the smell.

I think you'd be safe from the smell on the south side of the Jetty.

The trouble on the north jetty is that where you park, walk out and rig are all in the smell zone.
