Epic day and epic frustation. Acadia delivered solid W 25-30 this morning with fun waist high waves breaking at the shelf. Lots of happy kiters including Tony360, Sam, RobW, Clay, Jerry, Benito, Ben, Dale ... over a dozen early morning to 2 dozen by noon.
Unfortunately, I under estimated the wind strength and was overpowered on 9m+surfboard. On a bad jump, a wave face took out my surfboard, snapped a kite line which tore my canopy in half. Self-rescued, returned back to shore (long walk from upper Acadia to Dog Beach), switched to 7m and walked back to upper Acadia ... lost 1 hour.
7m was so much better cranking fast turns but it only lasted an hour before I had to work the kite in lighter air.
Oh well. Good way to end the Canada Day long weekend.
