Good session out of the Spit today. Early arrival with Rob and Francis (all of us on 9m+surfboard) for 3 hours TOW. Steady SW 18-22 with smooth water to start becoming choppy later in the afternoon. Not as strong as yesterday so had to work harder boosting but still tons of opportunities. Good turnout over 15 kiters + 3 windsurfers (Brian, Lubo, Dave/C36).

Glad we made it out before "end of days".

Puffed up. Arrived at Nexen to find it looking too light to draw me out on the water. Lubo and Ross launched there on big gear. I chose to drive around to the spit on the hope that I might be able to use the 5.3. Arrived and wind passed the van door test - 5.3 was rigged on the disappearing grass and launched into the river. Once on the water the 5.3 proved light in the lulls and just right in the puffs. Funny part was the wind was pretty steady shore to shore and may have been a touch lighter in the river. More of a chilled atmosphere in the thinning fall crowd. Was more fun than an afternoon in the office.
