I was out on the 17m and foil from 3-6 today, felt like about 9-10 knots even though JSCA graph said 12 knots. The local foil crew was all out too, CG, Filippe, Don.

It was quite an experience to kite with 3 humpback whales, they were doing laps up and down between the two sandbank markers. Kited with them for a solid hour, a few power boats, a couple monohulls and a kat from JSCA made for interesting maneuvers.

Then at 5 I was headed in but the wind picked up so I went for another lap way upwind and on a big reach way out in the middle the wind lulled and I dumped my kite. A mellow hour self rescue sail later the JSCA boat picked me a few hundred meters out past the Jericho pier, which was nice as the wind had backed way off by then and I still had a 40 min swim to go to the beach.

Was out most of the afternoon on my 131 and 7.5. The forecast seemed good but wind was gusty and less than predicted. Still had a great time though.
