Nicola will crank Friday late afternoon until dark. The thermal trough of low pressure sliding east that will set Whidbey off will do the same for Nicola. Cool marine air pushing into the Lower Mainland and 27+ degrees in Kamloops should make for a windy late afternoon / evening.

Sisters and halibut bank all NW,may be the first decent NW of the year. I see hb over 1m by 6pm , already waxing board for WB, there should sets close to beach but with energy. Acadia should be good as well. Great way to end the week. Have fun Chris.

even today, we were supposed to have no NW, but hb managed to 0.4m (16 knots)...

Looked good this afternoon. I'm ready to start pulling the trigger there. Had family in town this week. Sucks that the sailing club and site is gone. Used to be a wind sensor on site. Lease didn't get renewed by Douglas Lake Ranch. Great spot. Hope it gets sorted out. I contacted them and got laid response.

Nice 25-35+ mph winds on Nicola today. Most guys were on 4.2-4.7 sails and 6-9m kites with 3-4' smooth windswell on Nicola this afternoon. Became a bit gusty after 6pm tonight. Great turnout for this early in the season. Kamloops was 26 degrees at 7pm :D

Access to the grassy launch where the Kamloops Sailing facility was is now open. There is still a gate at the entrance which is closed at night. Cost is 10 dollars per vehicle and 5 dollars for each adult afterwards. If you want to camp it is not possible. They allow RV's only at the golf course for 35 dollars per night which includes access to launch.
