Great vid Darrell! I think at 1:29 is exactly where I thought you did the floater, and then dropped the little face. Excellent!
Dave thanks for the great pics, as usual! Gabriel's Beach does seem like a kinder, gentler JWSP to me. It probably won't get the incredible huge swell and longer period like JWSP, given the fetch, but it won't have the carnage either.
Thanks for all the info, and advice Gabriel! So generous with sharing this. How does it feel to have a beach named after you, and your still alive dude!!! Haha.
See you guys soon. Mahalo!

  • Pictures: Your welcome. Always appreciate the comments.
  • Kinder, Gentler JWSP: Agreed. Thank goodness! :D ;)
  • Carnage: The one thing that caught my attention that made me think this spot may get some shore break on high tide/strong wind/storm surge was the nice clean cut line on the water side of the sand/gravel dike. Last time I was down at JWSP there was a high tide and it was first west wind in a while (beach had been stocking sand for a while) and the shore break had cut a nice 2' 'ledge' in the beach sand (see image below). The 'ledge" at Gabriel's Beach was over twice as high in spots!
