6h TOW. Good progress on backloops and Columbia-style wave riding today. I said my first session of the year would be at Columbia and I meant it
Vanpool to Columbia with Stokeometer (aka AG). Early start to the day (6:30 sailing) arrived at the beach just after 9, on the water about 10 and sailed to about 3.
Started off by meeting the original JR and heard about the pre-subdivision days of hunting for deer with crossbow and sailing Mistral Hookipa at Columbia! Then Stokeometer, myself and Windude took to the water (after we lent out a fin and mast extension). Then joined by Ozy, Windsurfish, DavidM, Hiyosilver, Shaggy, Uddereef (closing shop). Both jumping (some spinning) and frontside tries to be had. Fun conditions! Fun bunch to sail with!
Columbia`s version of the `weird wave`sure can suck a lot of energy out of you if you find yourself wrestling with your gear in the shorebreak.
Day ended with tired bodies and one of us with bloody hands.
