forecast for lumi bay (33km to PR on SE), is 28knots at 1pm.

Expect full surf at 2pm PR, not bad.

and I like these cameras:
http://www.metcam.navcanada.ca/hb/playe ... g=e&id=128
choose East camera and overlay (to see PR)...

things got a little easier.

Sandheads and YVR sensors are now showing SE up to 20 knots but BBAirport is still ESE 10knots. PR and the Ferry Terminal are probably sailable/Kiteable now. Have fun for those who can get out today!

Locust delivered way more than expected. 2.5 hours on 7m (overpowered) + surfboard from 11am-2pm with Cash, Jerry, George, David Culver, Garret, DJ ... and a few more locals. Knee to waist high clean waves with 40' spacing. S 25-35 was quite a handful but still fun. Some epic gusts felt like hot air blowing out of a furnace. Nice to end a session with big smiles and dry gear.

No wind at 3rd this afternoon. Only about 10 knots at the beach. There was a wind line and whitecaps at the mile marker but it never filled in before dark.

It was this good:

6h TOW. Good progress on backloops and Columbia-style wave riding today. I said my first session of the year would be at Columbia and I meant it :D

Leather gloves in the mail.

Kayak gloves,Neoprene on back of hand, leather on palm; nobody wears them for wind sports, had them , great for windsurfing. Like football gloves, good for grip. It will give you more water time.

Vanpool to Columbia with Stokeometer (aka AG). Early start to the day (6:30 sailing) arrived at the beach just after 9, on the water about 10 and sailed to about 3.

Started off by meeting the original JR and heard about the pre-subdivision days of hunting for deer with crossbow and sailing Mistral Hookipa at Columbia! Then Stokeometer, myself and Windude took to the water (after we lent out a fin and mast extension). Then joined by Ozy, Windsurfish, DavidM, Hiyosilver, Shaggy, Uddereef (closing shop). Both jumping (some spinning) and frontside tries to be had. Fun conditions! Fun bunch to sail with! :D :D :D

Columbia`s version of the `weird wave`sure can suck a lot of energy out of you if you find yourself wrestling with your gear in the shorebreak.

Day ended with tired bodies and one of us with bloody hands.

AG:

This is the stuff I mentioned. Waterproof protection that cushions. My friend applied it to cover open wounds in his hands and was able to sail the rest of the week.
