I was too sceptical and went snowboarding at Cypress instead. Looks like SSE 20-25 at 72nd.

Any luck today? Sounds like I missed a good session.

It was great. Saw the graph over 25 and went to the beach in a panic. Should have rigged 4.7 like I said in my OSR but went 5.2 instead. Was over powered but it wasn't too bad being on my 80L. Some big swell on the outside and some really nice waves near the beach from the high tide. When I first launch there was some big shore break that caught me off guard but it didn't last long when the tide dropped. Wind switched S near 4 so I packed it in. It was really cold though, I had to come in almost every reach to warm up my hands and there was also a lot of chop in between the inside and outer sets.

Good waves at PR. High tide, surf closer to beach, nice sets 2 to 5 pm, 7mm gloves make all the difference. Not good for windsurfing. Tide has to be 10-12 ft, 26+ knots for windsurfing.

Got to 72nd at around 3:00 as rob decman was packing up his 7m. I went out on my 10m and was well powered. I
Managed to cover a lot of ground looking for my lost board but no luck. Nobody else there to enjoy some of the best conditions I've seen at 72nd. Finished at 4:30 as the sun went down.

Glad you scored! :D I saw the graph kick (but missed your OSR) and thought you had left town. The timing was tight for me sans gear in the van and I wasn't keen on a chilly solo session.

Thanks to all for the session reports. Hope it's not too long before we are all out on the water again. :D ;)

I was watching it as well but only had a small window of opportunity in the late morning/early afternoon. Probably could have had an hour session if I had just gone and waited. On a positive note, we have a brand new year starting shortly so here's to an exceptionally windy 2016!
