Does anybody know if green lake or Alta lake has frozen over enough to walk on yet?

Usually green lake doesn't freeze over until later in the year, it takes a long time of sub zero temps to freeze.

Not sure but 2 guys with twice my weight have no problem on it and went as far as the eye can see. More ice but not so much snow.

One guy on 11m another on 9m and I was on 8m then 6m.

Was out at 11 am until 3pm.

Wind was a little fluky near the hwy but steadier on the opposite side of the hwy

Are you able to hold an edge on a snowboard? Or are you using ice skates?

I edge hard on ice with snowboard. My 6 m was actually more than enough because of ice.

So I got lucky yesterday and today. And my thanks to:

Considerable temperature gradient between Lilloet and Vancouver : ~8 to ~10 degrees
Considerable pressure gradient between Lilloet and Vancouver: ~0.6 to ~1.0
    Sunny skies

Went to GL today: 3-4 cm snow on top of solid ice. Started light N 4-6 knots at 11:30, got stronger so at the end at 14:30 I was on my 9m, BUT was not steady: the gusts were O.K. the lulls too long...kite dropped out of air. First it was sunny, later clouds moved in.
