At 3rd Avenue, Clay was first on the water on 9m at 8:30am in SE 25. Jerry, Lucas and I pumped 7m and waited until 9am when it ramped up to SE 25-30. Waist high waves with the occasional organized waves outside for some fun gybing. Inside waves upwind of 3rd Ave were steep and smooth. Sadly, this only lasted 0.5 hrs before dropping to SE 20. Everyone came in except Clay on his 9m.
Soon enough at 10am wind returned to SE 30 so we (Dave Culver, Joe, Jerry, Lucas and I) returned to the water on 7m. Waves were better organized and chest high but had to take gybes slower as wind got stronger and stronger. By 11am after everyone came in, it reached SE 35g40 and it was time to quit survival kiting.
After 11am (shift change) 5m kites hit the water (Faceplant, Rob D, James and Francis). Francis reported super smooth rollers and steady SE 35-45 was fun easy riding on 5m until it dropped at 12:45pm to E 25. Sounds like the 5m kites scored the best conditions of the day ... totally jealous.
