Ja, she's already ripping here in Richmond! Hope it doesn't blow itself out in the night!

Okay, see you there. I will try out the new South Perimeter Road to see if it is faster.

Today started out as a disapointment but ended up as one of my best sessions at Point Roberts so far. The wind died shortly after launching this morning and we waited a bit before Alton decided to try the Ferry Terminal. Darrel and I stayed at PR and re-rigged up to 5.8s.
Things came back up and we had a few runs but weren't really powered up. We almost gave up but then it picked up again. This time it filled in nicely and we got almost another 2 hours of sailing in. It just kept building and the last 45 minutes were full on. I could have gone down to the 5.2 but didn't want to rig again. We sailed around the front on the point where the surfers were and caught some really nice rides as the swell really picked up when the tide dropped. Jumps were nice as well, the only down side was the outside was really mixed up from the tide so we had to make short runs on the inside. The upside was the swell was so clean and well spaced on the inside it didn't seem to matter. 5 or 6 surfers out as well today.
Nice way to start the New Year :D

Yes, a great start to the New Year. 5.9 and 115L underpowered for an hour then fully powered to overpowered for 2 hrs. As Michael said - really liked how the wind filled in and the swell picked up. I stayed until about 2:15 pm catching up on calls and eating lunch and it was still cranking when I left. Stopped at Centennial and had a quick "sink" shower, changed into my suit and made my 3:30 meeting in South Surrey. Arriving at 11am would have been the best option today and I look forward to seeing more days at PR.

** That new South Perimeter Road was a nice added touch as it knocked 15 minutes off the drive from Port Kells / North Surrey.

Great way to start the new year.

Point Roberts - caught dawn patrol with Michael and Darrell. NW 20-25 from 8am to 9am before tanking. Nice swell near shore but disorganized outside. Left at 9:30am for the ferry terminal to chase the wind. Wish I had stayed with Michael and Darrell to score more Point Roberts swell.

Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal - W 20-25 overpowered on 5.2/93L in chop from 11am to noon. Rigged down to 4.7/93L but even more overpowered in NW 25-30 but swell cleaned up with direction change. Finally dialled in on 4.7/74L at 2pm before it started dying off.
