Hey Guys,

Make sure you can free up this Saturday for wind. There's a very powerful low and associated occluded front forecast to move through our waters during daylight hours on Saturday. I would expect winds to start off ENE-E early am hours then quickly veer to SE-SSE and build. Looks like SE 30-40 mph with gusts nearing 50 by early afternoon at Centennial. If you have to split the day I would bet on the afternoon session 12pm-4pm. Should be a big day everywhere with good SE exposure from Useless Bay on Whidbey right through to Comox.

Have fun,

Chris

I think you'll get somewhere in the neighbourhood of 20-25+ mph with higher gusts from 9-11 Jack. It looks like the big stuff won't start to push in until 12pm onwards. I'll have a look again tomorrow night to see if the forecast track of the low and associated front has changed at all.

Cheers,

Chris

Big day still on track for tomorrow. Looks like SE 20-30 for the morning session and SE 30-40+ for the afternoon session. Great looking TAF's, Canadian and American forecasts and models :D

G-Spot has the winds dying off just before BBay but I have a feeling it will make it in. What are others thinking?

It's probably an ideal day to do Lighthouse Park but I have limited time.

How is the Ferry Terminal on SE? I'm pretty sketched out about the launch being 30m upwind of a highway so I usually don't even consider it but what about launching at the little point to the South near the end of Tsawwassen Beach Rd.?

Canada RASP and NOAA look good so BBay is still a good bet.

I think I will keep Locust as a backup option for Saturday - still have never sailed there before. Alton, how's the tide looking for poling there on Sat?

Hope you find your board!

G-Spot doesn't show very good wind for Saturday, you'd be far better off doing Lighthouse Park based on the forecast.

Tide is not a problem for poling at Locust. Worst case you'll need to rig by the trees at very high tide.
