Correction............. 3rd should be full on by 8am 8-)

I hope your right, because you can't sail Saturna.

Chris Klohn wrote:Re: Locust SE39G42 mph @ 5:30am

Big wind down south already moving northwards. With a bit of luck 3rd will be full on by late morning :D

Graph at Locust looks to be a solid SSE 36 mph (gusting 40) on a 5' tide at dawn rising to 9' at noon (tough for kites) while the graph at CNL is SSE (the good news) 16 mph, gusting 19 and very sporadic - looks like it is getting hit with intermittent pulses of wind (the bad news).

Hoping it fills in at CNL, but my gut doesn't like the looks of it so far ~ I've got time pressure today to a decision point is looming (likely to be made in transit).

Glad to see CNL has kicked! :D Shape of front looks flat (north to south) and that path could make for a less than unpredictable day ~ back edge of the wind is already over the north end of the west coast of the island and is just west of LaPerouse mid-island

I think your good Dave. Should be windy until mid afternoon as is. If the centre of the low moves further north it'll nuke.

20% less than the peak after 10am. That's what I see from forecast at this time on the strait.

it's a crap shoot anyway
