Seemed to read on the low side yesterday but definitely better than flying blind. Maybe we can compensate by using the "gusts" then add 5 knots.

The White Rock sensor appears to be located 5 blocks north and 5 blocks west of East Beach. Probably some disturbance from residential homes so best to go by the gusts instead of the average.

When I look at these two graphs the Blaine sensor (bottom graph) looks closer to what I experienced from about 10 am through to about 2:30 pm. My two cents.

I agree. The Blaine sensor is farther away from East Beach but perhaps there's less landscape interference on a SW to W wind direction.

The wind looked really light in that video when Cash was landing and the kid was on the storm drain. Nicely shot video.

Cash (10m) and Matt (7m) were out all morning in SW 25-30. When I arrived at noon Cash and Matt were coming in during a major lull. By 1pm the wind returned to SW 25-30 occasionally gusting 35. Most kiters were on 7m except for suicidal Cash.
