Tomorrow is going to crank again on Whidbey. Slightly different direction with the cold front. Checkout Ebey Landing for nice peeling waves, green water and no sandblasting. I would estimate SSW 25-35+ all day at Ebey. Useless will be great again too. Check the Double Bluff webcam to look at the conditions first.

Cheers,

Chris

Just went through all the models for Whidbey and it looks really good again. The angle of the cold front and isobars will produce SSW-SW winds. Useless will be great with southern Puget sound having solid wind from dawn to dusk on Friday. Ebey will be best morning to early afternoon. Both locations will have nice waves with the low tide setup. Checkout the forecast with the cold front for Puget Sound..........Gale Warning all day!! 8-)

Super star Wife! Ebey is much friendlier for the little guy. If you don't like what you see just head back to Useless. I'll watch it through the night and post a quick forecast summary at 6am tomorrow your time. It must be noisy in Oak Harbour now with those 48mph gusts rolling through.

Ding, Ding, Ding...................Round 4!

There's another great day of wind shaping up today for all of Whidbey Island. It's been blowing all night out of the south. The forecasts and models show the warm front that brought the 5m weather yesterday exiting the region.

The cold front that will produce the S-SSW winds today down at Useless and SW-WSW at Ebey and JWSP is currently sitting halfway through JDFS. It will be slowly marching eastward today as the low fills.

Weather Synopsis North Whidbey Island:

Expect the strong southerlies through Ebey and Oak Harbour to ease around 9am this morning. Pressure gradients will turn westerly through JDFS this morning as the cold front slowly moves east. This will shutdown the southerly flow on the north part of Whidbey. The winds will slowly veer from S-WSW.

There is a chance that a West Beach, JWSP, will get a westerly push through JDFS today. To quickly check the setup from your phone today click the WindOnTheWater link Alton has added. Specifically look at the readings for:

1.) Sheringham Point
2.) Race Rocks
3.) Buoy 46088
4.) Smith Island
5.) Whidbey

If they are lined up and blowing...............JWSP will be great :D

Weather Synopsis Southern Whidbey Island:

Puget Sound will be solid today. A stalled front and slowly filling low is the classic setup for Useless. There is a gale warning of 25-35 knots all day. It's been blowing 30-40 mph all night at Useless and will only back off a little today. There are wind advisories up for the south sound all day today.

Educated Guess:

Drive to Ebey and take a look first light. You'll have a great vantage point from the bluff to see if a 30 knot westerly is coming down JDFS. If you like the conditions at Ebey pump up and go. You should get a few hours of sideshore wind there this morning.

If Ebey doesn't look good and there's no westerly coming down JDFS drive straight to Useless again. It's windy now and will be good all day. Expect 9 meter wind for the better part of the day with higher gusts.

Top Whidbey Choices Today:
1.) Useless (All Day)
2.) Ebey (Dawn Patrol 7:00-9:00)
3.) JWSP (If The Westerly Fills In)

Have fun :D

Cheers,

Chris
